Honest truth is that these Americans should be happy that the Japanese in general have managed to let Hiroshima/Nagasaki be a thing of the past and not bring it up at all. Pearl Harbour was just a good pre-emptive strike on a military installation, Hiroshima/Nagasaki was something altogether different and although perhaps justified by circumstances much more questionable and horrific.
