"The hamster died from blunt force trauma, liver damage and a brain hemorrhage, he said."

HAHA! Did they actually do an autopsy on the hamster?

Two years seems harsh. Its just a friggin hamster. Perhaps forcing her to pay fines and possibly take some anger management classes would be better for society. We don't need another person in prison for a friggin hamster.

Hamsters are living beings too. How would you feel of a superior alien species came to earth and one of them strangled you while thinking "meh, it's just a human, no big deal"?

Well I would hope the superior specie pays some fines I guess...

Superior creatures kill other things all the time! That's nature. I mean cat kills mouse, dog kills cat, and some people eat dog.

If a cat doesn't get prision time for killing a mouse than neither should a human. Case closed!

There's a huge difference between killing an animal out of necessity (to obtain food, to defend yourself, to prevent an infestation) and killing animals for fun.

Also, I don't think that dogs are necessarily superior to cats on the evolution scale.

Animals don't just kill for food. But would you have felt better if the woman ate the hamster?

Dogs are superior physically and that's all I'm looking at. Mentally... about the same level. They just eat, shit, and kill something for fun on occasion.

True, I have a cat that kills mice. But it doesn't eat them. It just plays with the dead body. Does my cat deserve prison time?
