Even if they lost a lot with the first Xbox, alone, Xbox LIVE made enough profit to negate that. I read somewhere that they make near 100 million dollars alone on XBL a year.

But R and D etc etc, I think MS would be at a loss for the xbox/360 wouldnt they?
