2. Much like most other niche Japanese developers, a majority of NIS's sales come from Japan, so it's not surprising they'll primarily support the console with the best software sales in the region.  They could branch out and release on 360, yes, but they'd be adding a very small percentage of sales to their total, for the cost of retooling an engine designed entirely around the ps3 to another platform.  It simply wouldn't be worth the added costs.  At least that's what they seem to think.  Plus, by going multiplatform, they'd be sacrificing some of that support mentioned above.

I'd have to agree and disagree with you here.

Take Atlus for example. Their games are usually niche like that of NIS, but Atlus managed to expand outside of Japan over the years and they only gained more and more popularity by releasing games on all platforms.

There may be a large wall to overcome at first to get outside of Japan-only but once they made it out, they'll grow bigger.

What I see most people here are saying is that, NIS should remain small and mostly in Japan. If you like them, don't you want them to expand or are you afraid of losing exclusives?

Or maybe they can't handle the fanboys breakdown the way FF13 did :)
