It does upscale DVD with different options. Full, Normal and Double Scale.

I would recommend a PS3 for Blu-ray as the interface is a lot faster than other players.

I can get a BluRay for €120 on Amazon. The PS3 is €300.

Is the premium of €180 worth it? Are €120 players comparable to PS3 Bluray performance?

If you have no interest at all in anything else the PS3 offers (games, more media capabilities), then there probably is not much difference in the quality.

I will probably get a PS3 anyways, because of the HDD and the games and all. Just wanted to understand what the price for those is.

Also, I dont like the design, as a nice BluRay player would have looked much better. But then again, the PS3 offers a lot more.
