My personal 10:

Halo:CE, one of my first multiplayer PC games, an all time favourite by far, the mods online were incredible fun and at the time, it was an amazing shooter. Must have clocked a fair few hundred hours on the multiplayer component and another 20 or so on single player.

COD4:MW, amazing game, my first 360 game too. I've absolutely loved this game, I am a fan of FPS genre but this was what has really defined it for me I guess, it's just perfectly balanced and was genuinely fun to play, multiplayer in particular. Also at the time the graphics were top notch, especially after playing my old Xbox.

Civilization 3, I haven't played anything afterwards, but this game was just awesome, turn based RTS at it's finest imo, you start off with nothing more than cavemen then get to the stage where you can ICBM the shit out of countries.

Age of Empires 1/2, awesome RTS games, extremely fun to play and the balance was fine, the resource gathering etc was interesting and the balance in the game was achieved, for me personally, one of the first finest RTS I've played.

Half Life, I remember this game since ~1999, my god I shat my pants several times during the course of it, but it was totally worth having to spend extra time changing my pants and wearing a diaper. This game is absolutely epic.

Counter Strike, started off as a mod of Half Life, I really loved it. The competitive multiplayer was something totally different, really interesting and engrossing, was my top multiplayer FPS until COD4 dethroned it.

Fable:TLS, having not been part of the hype that Peter had started, I just plunged into a random game that I've picked up for my original Xbox, I've absolutely loved it. It is innocent yet brutal at the same time, the humour is interesting and very British-y, which makes me just fall in love with this little RPG, there are areas for many improvements, but it was still a decent game that I've replayed several times.

Mass Effect 2, an immersive Sci-Fi experience, I've thought that my lack of ME1 knowledge would hamper me while playing this game, but it was easy to pick up and I've pretty much read up on the ME1 storyline, the characters are well done and the dialogue is interesting and seems genuine, definitely a game for the RPG/TPS lovers, I thought that the combat on this game was well executed. The only thing that was a real turn off was the resource mining.

Red Dead Redemption, I've kind of hated GTA IV but still completed it, this on the other hand.. The beautiful countryside and interesting towns have made this game enjoyable to ride between the different missions instead of skipping it via camp, I've loved this game and the ending was very appropriate for the game, overall I'd say it's one of my favourite recent games, and would highly recommend it.

Battlefield 2, as good as multiplayer experience gets online, it is absolutely awesome. The only reason why I'd rank COD4/CS higher than it is because I've managed to break the disk, this game is absolute class, the class balance, the vehicles, the amount of players, combat everything was well executed, at the time I've played it, it was absolutely awesome, I still remember crashing chopper full of people with them flaming me, it was a genuinely fun multiplayer game.
