well ive been fixing my own firmware for ps3 in some of my sparetime (no, not for pirating) and well, i just got 3.60; the old security codes arent being used by sony anymore it seems.
the file that was compromised (metldr) is a file on all ps3s that is, well unchangeable, sony cant change it and neither can anyone else and well, that was sonys problem. now though, with 3.60 its moot as sony isnt using metldr... at all lol. im not sure how theyre ignoring it yet, nor do i really care, i wont be spending any of my time figuring it out, 3.55 will be perfect for my purposes. though its pretty interesting, isnt it?
anyone have any (inteligent) predictions on the future of ps3 security?
