Not to mention because of the 3DS having BC with DS many people (myself included) will be playing Pokemon Black and White on a 3DS once it launches. Now psrock from the announced NGP games list me a few that is not your typical sit down and play for hours type of experience? Little Deviants and Little Big Planet? But what was Sony pushing at NGP announcement? Uncharted, Killzone, Call of Duty, Resistance, and Unreal games? I don't see the lesson that Dahuman was talking about being learned here... As for the other debate, I don't care about graphics, never have, but it really is nostalgia glasses if you think PSP looks close to 3DS, period, either that or you have no eye for details, or maybe just lying to hype Sony's out going portable for whatever reason *shrug* The other end of this is NGP can handle current gen titles... obviously so can 3DS... PSP cannot... thus 360 and PS3 games coming to portables can come to both, maybe with a bit more work put into the 3DS version, but they're within range of each other, so what's the point NGP will look best, 3DS will be behind but playing in 3D, and PSP will be long dead by the time the software battle heats up between the two. |
Do you mind if I join this debate? Well, too bad! :P
Your post is very unclear to me and I would like clarification about a few things... First off, you think that the NGP won't have many of these so-called 'pick up and play' games? I know this is not my discussion but you asked psrock to list some of these announced titles... well, like you yourself have stated: Littlebigplanet, little deviants... plus titles like Wipout, Hot Shot's golf, and some weird augmented reality games called Smart As, Reality Fighters and Broken.
NGP will also sport PSN BC which means titles like Patapon, LocoRoco, Echochrome, Half-Minute Hero, etc. can be played day 1. I'm not sure if this is confirmed, but I think that PSN games like the pixeljunk series, Flower, Journey and all the other PSN games will be playable on NGP. And for overkill, ps-suite, which I think will bring many of those apps mini games.
Currently 10-12 titles are confirmed for NGP. Out of those, half seem to be the type of games you so desire IN ADDITION to the prospects of BC, PSN and ps-suite. This is plenty from the get go, and just think of the myriad future game announcements at E3 and TGS?! :O So I'm not sure where you're coming from...
@bolded: Yes, these games exist just like Littlebigplanet and Little deviants... but what about the OoT port, Resident evil, or the inevitable monster hunters? The 3ds has them, and most definitely they'll put up some very, very impressive sales #s. And I bet you anything that these games will be very important for the 3ds moreso than fucking 'steel diver'.
Having a good balance is the key, right? Both of 5 minute quickies AND epics people could lose themselves to for 20-30 hours... just like the 3ds, NPG clearly has this awell don't you agree?
In regards to your graphics claim... the chasm is massive between the NGP and 3ds. Please do not allow yourself to be fooled. Just look at the raw specs and compare them... if that does not satisfy you, than read all the NGP impressions from game developers and gaming journalist from the jan 27 NGP announcement conference.
You said graphics don't matter to you? That's perfectly okay, but claiming that NGP and 3ds is comparatively close is a mistake IMO
