Actually, it about the gap of a Gamecube to a Xbox360, people are just used to HD consoles now so they don't see the gap as much, then again I don't see much gap on NGP demos to some 3DS games either, but I can see the details clearly being much higher than any PSP game on the NGP or 3DS. People just don't want to see it, people mentally brush it off, because it's Nintendo =P. Not to mention none of us have actually seen it in 3D outside of the very few people.

I don't see much of a gap between the NGP and the 3DS myself.  Not one that the specs would indicate.  The only reason I'm excited for NGP is that I'm loving PS3's PSN games more and more and the idea of being able to play pixeljunk shooter 1&2 and slam bolt scrappers where ever I may happen to be is orgasm inducing.  Plus some mobile games look cool but they are action games and I would want buttons and a dpad for that.

I just can't be mad at people who don't see that big a difference cause i barely do myself. I'm not entirely sure it boils down to an anti-Nintendo bias though. On a 3-5 inch screen I don't think half these damn shaders and shit will mean anything really.  I only hope that the ability to render more things at once will have a great effect on gameplay at somepoint. Dead Rising 3 NGP here I come.

Well, my point still stands.  In terms of polys and textures (though on both systems textures are hit or miss), yes the 3DS is better, but its not leagues beyond the PSP.  I have noticed a trend in some 3DS games where it seems a lot is pumped into the main character, while the backgrounds and enemies don't see nearly as much love.  Which really isn't that big a deal, I mean the main character is always there onscreen for the whole game.  Also, what makes the biggest difference, which I don't think many people understand, is the improved AA and shaders.  If PSP were able to pull off the same level of AA and shading, then most of you would truly not see much difference in the other departments, either.

I do see a bigger jump when going from 3DS to NGP.  It has a much higher poly count and can pull off better textures.  Of course with a bigger, higher res screen you're going to be able to tell the difference better.  And if it couldn't pull that off, those games would look pretty bad.

I think the gaps are about the same from PSP to 3DS to NGP at this point. People are giving the PSP too much credit lol, it's not like I don't have  the system. AA is not as much an issue on smaller screens, so it's really all about lighting, shaders and shadows, and PSP is not miles behind with those, it's not even capable of pulling off good ones if at all with current standards.
