It's called marketing 101. Of course they want to hype the release.
I seem to remember Crytek talking up CryEngine on the PS3 a good deal as well, which is currently looking completely unsubstantiated.
If so, expect it to perform similarly to Bulletstorm on the PS3.
Epic in particular does a lot of crap talking (most of it coming from Bleszinski) in regards to their projects. One can only guess it's a part of that "rock star" iconoclast image they seem to want to project.
