People get taken to court for animal cruelties all the time. A few drunken man was fined last year in the UK for kicking a bird to death. They were drunk and obviously not thinking like properly behaved human being but nothing would have come of it if they hadn't been dumb enough to record their idiocy and upload it to youtube.

The fact that they were drunk isn't an excuse. What if they got drunk and kicked a man to death?
