In olden times at the battle of Somme half a million people died in a day, but that was old warfare.
Modern warfare has substantial losses and you are right in the respect that it is quite alot of soldiers to lose in a week when compared to the situation in Afghanistan, but then again I don't think that the AU soldiers are anywhere as trained and have as sophisticated equipment as say the UN forces in Afghanistan, so it's sort of understandable but still a bit surprising.
Disconnect and self destruct, one bullet a time.
