I see all this love and hate for the company pointless, what's the point, really? It's not like their PR guys are trawling the web looking for potential groupies. Really, if anything people should love the product rather than a company, hating another product just because a company makes them is just silly and stupid in my honest opinion. I find the whole "I won't buy 360 cos MS makes it" stance really stupid as I find the whole "I won't buy Wii cos Nintendo makes it" etc for PS3 too. If I like the product, I buy it. What company makes it has no relevance to me whatsoever.

What about the "I love everything Nintendo's ever made, so I want to support them" statement?

I never truly hated the other companies (Except Sony) I just wanted to see Nintendo do good. I loved Nintendo's products and would rather spend my money supporting Nintendo then spending it on competitors products. I would rather have seen Nintendo succeed then Sega or Sony.

The only reason that ever changed was A) Nintendo said they were no longer competing with Microsoft and Sony and B) because third party content on Wii became unbearable!

Well if the console is shit and is poorly received it's pretty poor basis to buy one when there is better alternative available on the market, I understand the whole brand loyalty concept but it's taken a bit far if people will get to the stage where they purchase products that are absolutely pants just to support the company, failure should be punished and success should be rewarded, usual reasoning applies to the case of games too. I like BioWare but if they release something absolutely pants, I am not going to go running to get it, maybe a rental but I can't justify buying shovelware just because I like company, however there is a once in a bluemoon chance of Nintendo making a crap console, albeit small. Same goes for every other gaming console manufacturers :p.
