Can't help but notice the flat out falsehoods in his presentation and a direct comparison to Motorola's Xoom.
Looking at comparable models (32GB versions), the Xoom gives you better cameras w/ flash, Flash, expandable memory, at least twice the RAM, standard connections, and probably a few other features I'm forgetting.
All the while every other hardware component is about the same between the two... CPU, GPU, screen, etc are all pretty much the same.
Then you have the OS differences. Ignoring preference for how they work, Xoom is the only one with an actual Tablet designed OS. iPad simply has an up-scaled phone OS. That maybe enough and the difference may just lie in how the dev makes the specific app, but in my (granted short) use both OS, Honeycomb is simply better suited for tablets.
Now, in the 32GB models, Xoom is $70 more... for now. However, Apple never discounts their products, unless its being clearanced out. So, I fully expect the Xoom to see many sale prices. Then, you can compare the 64GB iPad to an upgraded Xoom with a 32GB SD card. Here the Xoom would be cheaper or the same, depending on the card you went with.
I think anyone out there would benefit by doing a little testing on their own. To me its no question which one I'd pick. But for now, I'll wait for end of 2011 to see a larger selection and probably select a Android based model that is on sale for considerably less than either of these with better features than both.
