Move to Europe, and smoke at your own will! :)

Actually, in the US the severity of laws vary greatly by state with the Western half of the nation having very minor laws with punishments only equivalent to a traffic ticket while many Eastern and Southern states will throw a person into jail for even small amounts of possesion. Because the US lets our states regulate our laws relatively freely  people live under very different rules depending on where they reside.

Too confusing. More centralisation!!!

I do not know if you are serious, but America is to big of a country for that to work out well. I bet you my state is almost as big as your country. :P

Canada is way bigger then the US yet we opperate with federal laws. If drinking and driving is illegal in one province it is in all. The Controlled Drugs and Substances Act, and I believe it would be classified under section 1 dictates across Canada smoking weed is illegal. In the same way many other laws are enforced across Canada in federal law.

Their are a few provincial laws, but the federal laws cover most of everything and are enforced nation wide. Unlike the US which relies heavily on state law. Canada is far more unified then the US legally. Now that being said getting caught with weed in Canada (Small amounts) usually results in a slap on the wrist not heavy action.
