Why do people make comments when they don't even bother to watch the videos or read the story?
"I was able to strafe left and right while running with subtle movements of my left hand"
"From time to time, the game threw obstacles my way that I either had to doge or jump over, the latter action requiring only a simply upward tug with my left hand."
You control the side to side and jumping movement with your left hand, the character is not avoiding obstacles on his own. He is moving forward on his own but it's not entirely on rails.
There are also side scrolling sections of the game where you are controlling the movement.
