I wouldn't go as far as the word 'hate', but I 'dislike' the sheer popularity the FPS genre has developed as of late and the effects it has had. This stems from the fact that the genre is not to my taste (bioshock and timesplitters are the exceptions), but is predominately due to how many fellow gamers among my peers (U.K 16-18 year old typically male 6th formers) are not only shocked but actually look down on me and my gaming taste once they find out that I don't play CoD or Battlefield, despite being an avid gamer. It's like some kind of inverted snobbery
