Haven't really posted in this thread before, but I need to get something out of my chest today.

Just found out that my father has a demoplastic small round cell tumor, which is a malign kind, located on his right lung, which is constricting his Aorta and disrupting most of the blood flow to his brain.

He's 45 years old and up until 4 years ago, he was a heavy smoker, though due to the size of the tumor, doctors believe that has been growing for at least 10 years.

That's pretty much it....I hate myself when these things happen, because my brain is trying to rationalizate the entire situation to prevent me from having a emotional breakdown..

Man I empathize with you a great deal. When my mother had a level 3 case of breast cancer a year ago I had an emotional breakdown and I barly was able finish that semester. At the time a friend of mine had her dad go through cancer and she also had an emotional breakdown. I think this is normal for people who really care about a parent.

I wish your dad the best and people do survive this all the time as my friend and I both have parents as survivors and I hope the best for you.
