depeds on what your face looks like and how short the rest of your hair is really. having not seen your face, its hard to tell if you suit iit or not and of course, i can only speak for myself. like i siad, im scottish so i dont mind a bit of stubble xD

i do think that stubble > beard though, but thats just me.
