Selling consoles for a loss at launch to recoup with software has always been a successful strategy for them (and not only for Sony). And it's besides the point anyway. If this is going to put them out of buisness... yes I am in the position to say that. You are claiming they have a right to protect themself, because if consumers are able to use their hardware how they want, sony and developers will go out of buisness because SOME of them will abuse that by doing something illegal.
Also, yes... that IS protecting Sony, by making laws that restrict consumer rights because there are negative side effects... that are only negative when a poor buisness strategy is made.
