Hopefully Hotz' newly affordable legal team brings this up in the case, and Sony gets forced off of it. It's directly interfering with the device that you own and the use of the physical software that you own against your knowledge or will

It's funny though, since it's been there forever.  It's shocking just how much info sony collects.  Everything you run in your PS3, right down to your movie selections (so they know what porn your watching) what TV you use... when you use this shit.  I'd love to sift through that data... though ethically I don't think I could.  At least not based on what I learned in my science and marketing classes.

I think Sony just want something in the ruling books before IP laws protecting non-creative work like this become COMPLETELY untenable.

We've already got software in our Microwaves and Cars, hell... if you listen to that "games and everyday life" guy pretty soon our soda cans will come with it's own software!

I'm kinda fascinated with that stuff too (especially for myself, that's why i loved it when the Nintendo Channel added a means for tracking total playtime across your most-played titles), but with my consent and for my own purposes, and i voluntarily give that data to the Nintendo Channel (which warns me as such)
