Unrealism (is that really a word?) is king to me. No point to me in trying to be too real in a game. Give me anthropormorphic animal protaganists, lazers, and off the wall physics over texures and real life situational stuff any day.
I guess if you are a sports game fan, realism is generally a necessity, but for most everything else, it just seems more fun to take advantage of the medium and go for broke in the creative department.
