I could use this as another opportunity to list all the features removed from Killzone 2's multiplayer, but I'm not gonna.
In the end, most people "prefer" Killzone 3's multipalyer because it's actually playable for most people now thanks to the improved controls.
Though Operations is an awesome addition, I agree. And the revamped class system makes a big difference early on.
