As far as I can remember, the closing of Ensemble has created 4 studios made almost entirely of former Ensemble employees. The big one is Robot Entertainment and they're working on the PC RTS Age of Empires Online for MS. The other 3 are Bonfire, Windstorm, and Newtoy. Bonfire was acquired by Zynga games after making a couple of iPhone games.

So with Robot Entertainment still having close ties to MS there is a possibility of a Halo Wars 2... I'm just not betting on it happening so soon. But I did enjoy Halo Wars quite a bit. The gameplay focus on combat was a smart move and the cutscenes were drool-inducing.

Robot Entertainment... here is the story how I think they formed. I personally think there was a rift in Ensemble, MS prob thought it was easier to kill Ensemble rather then try to fix the problem. Robot Entertainment is almost proof of that. The close ties shows that they werent that unhappy when ensemble closed.

This is just what I think otherwise there would have been less then 4 companies imo.
