I think FPS will stick around for a while due to the fact that it's based on conflict, everyone has that little hero in them that wants to experience war without the actual reprecussions, as long as there are wars, these type of games will continue to sell like hotcakes. I think Chess will stay around for a while but won't reach the levels that it has before, I may be wrong and in several decades we'll see Chess tournaments with audiences the size of Super Bowl or something x)
