Yes, Zelda Skyward Sword will push some Wii systems...especially for the "Core" who used to own a Wii but sold it. I expect it to push a decent amount similar to Donkey Kong Country Returns but it won't be a NSMBW, Wii Fit, Mario Kart Wii, or even a Brawl.

People go CRAZY for zelda games, it'll have a much bigger turnout than DKC. The core audience that still feels betrayed by the Wii will come to it with open arms. Remember, TP was available on the GC too, so some people skeptical during Wii launch didnt get the Wii for Zelda.

The best selling Zelda of all time sold 7.6 Million...while very good its not going to put the Wii on top again for more than 2-3 weeks. I still don't think Zelda Skyward Sword will be as strong of a System seller as most people in this thread think.(Don't call me a fanboy...Wii is my favorite System I just don't see Zelda doing all that much for Wii sales in the long run.)

While you're entitled to your opinion, Im trying to understand WHY you don't think the game will push systems? Anything over 2 mil sales generally pushes systems. Zelda usually has a bigger response than even Mario, or at least has on past systems. Trying to see from your PoV =)

We're in year 6 of the Wii life. Way past the point where games can still be called system sellers...
Sure some release will bump sales by 20-25% a week. But we are way past the point where a game will double or triple hardware sales for several weeks in a row..
PS3-Xbox360 gap : 1.5 millions and going up in PS3 favor !
PS3-Wii gap : 20 millions and going down !
