I would look at the game, decide if its worth its price to buy. If it is buy it, if not, play something else. Same thing I do with my hacked Android phone, my PC, and my consoles.
Just because its hacked, doesn't mean its automatically being pirated by everyone. However, you're friend is a crazy and should have set up an ad based version.
