Its very easy to prove both ways using real life situations. I own my systemz!! And my own example. It won't get you anywhere because that's not the exact same situation as the one we are talking about.

What an odd thing to say - the matter of ownership of systems (and what one does with them) is exactly the situation we are talking about.
