Hm, frankly I didn't find the demo too hard and I don't play many puzzle games. Probably gets way more difficult later on though, to have so may people complain.
Don't have a problem with an extra easy mode patch though, I doubt they will lover difficulty of all three current modes for that. People play games for different reasons, and if they want to play for the story (which I hear is excellent) and the difficulty really takes away their enjoyment (or actual ability to see the story), then by all means not a bad thing to have the patch.
