I didn't have problems with KZ2, nor did I have problems with Gears. I do have issues with ramming stuff into eyesockets. It is one of the things I had issues with. Some forms of violence I don't have issues with, while others I do. For example, I walked out on Robocop 2 after they were showing them ripping the chest open of a screaming guy in slow detail. Apparently a chainsaw through locusts doesn'treally bother me.
For me, some things can cause a game to be a turn off (and if they have a filter, it doesn't turn off sales), and myself to lose interest in it. There is enough I don't need it. Gore factor is a reason for lack of interest in Dead Space 2, for example. But a game may also do something playwise that causes it to go into no go territory. Brutal Legends lost me with its music game minigame you had to perform during battle. It just didn't click with me. So much content out there, I can develop being very picky, particularly with limited funds. Also, it goes as far as movies. Throw in 3D, and I won't go see it. The glasses don't jive with me at all.
