It took 45 months for the Xbox 360 to hit 3.85 million in the UK according to VGC.

This announcement, by Sony,  was made as VGC numbers for PS3 hit 3.85 million in the UK.

No, it just launched ~1 1/2 yrs before the PS3.  For the PS3 to reach the same 4 mil goal in basically the same amount of time as the 360, even with its high initial price and poor launch, is pretty incredible.  It also shows that more recent sales must have been enough to overcome earlier lifetime sales.

Thats what i was getting at. I remember reading in another thread people we saying that there is no way the ps3 could catch the 360 in the uk it was there land but it appears the ps3 it doing just fine there.
