And the app for the ps3 seems to exist, it is pretty easy to find on google. But according to its site 1) you need a legitimate ID, not just any number will do, and 2) there are about 3.4*10^38 possible combinations.

So the article was right about the difficultioes in obtaining it, unless the algorithm is found and a ID generator made. If that happes, then unbanning seems the first outcome, and depending on the number of possible IDs to be generated, it might well hit someone's perfectly OFW console more or less often.

I don't know, if there is a way to change IDs for XBOX.. but yes, can be.

The point is, there is a real chance to make it, and that`s what count. Is it really hard, to make a spam like - we need to ensure, that your console will not be banned, please insert your ID of your console ?

Sony will change the banning mechanism.. how ? ID is the only code that really differed from other consoles...everything else seems like the same.. .. maybe, they will be matching IDs  with some other things like - was it slim, Fat ? What account was logged in before and now ? Maybe they will break your privacy and spoof something - don't know what.. so SONY is going against rules ?

SONY could make, what they want, but in the end.... it will only makes angry legal customers.. not the pirates.. and this is not good.. Don't know, how M$ is banning the consoles, but it seems, it really pays off - i think, they both need to sit down and talk about the piracy - mechanism.. all in all - it goes also about their money..  and we as a players need to have a really great enjoyments of their great games.. We really want to enjoy what we have paid for..
