| Mr Puggsly said: They suck... in your opinion ofcourse. But nobody expects you to say anything postive about games on MS hardware. Now In my opinion, Kinect has the most enjoyable motion games I've ever played. But maybe I'm just a sucker for motion games not limited to my hands. Well me and the countless millions who are enjoying the Kinect. I'm not refering to the Kinect games with that statement, I just meant in general. Ha, are you kidding? I love my 360, just not Kinect.. Gears 1 and 2 are easilly my most played games this gen. To each his own.. I don't really care about the motion controls when it comes to Wii games. I just enjoy the games. I love old school type games, and arcade style games, primarilly platformers, and Wii has always been the best to offer this. The only game on Kinect that even remotely interests me is Dance Central, but if I want a Dance game, I will get Just Dance 2. Here's a thought. If the Wii Balance Board can maintain strong sales for years with very limited software selection and potential, why can't Kinect do the same? Wii Fit was a brand new concept that capured a blue ocean of new consumers, and despite what some people say, was a quality game. It's not necessarilly the balance board that sold, but Wii Fit itself. I think you're downplaying how big Mario Galaxy 2 and DKCR are. There was also a Kirby, a Metroid, and Just Dance games! Goldeneye and Black Ops were also some of the best shooters Wii has received. But whatever, lets downplay how strong the software in 2010 was compared to other years simply because NSMBW was a huge success. The 2010 lineup was incredibly lacking in games that could move consoles, I don't see how you could argue that.. That Kirby game is reminiscent of Yoshi's story; overly kiddie niche style that turned off many gamers. Don't even get me started on that Metroid game, ugh.. DKC was the only game that moved significant hardware the entire year. Yeah, MS is falling for it. Falling right into a goldmine! Like I said, without motion controls the Wii is just another Gamecube. It would do well, but not nearly this well. We'll see how it plays out. MS wisely timed the launch of Kinect to coincide with the holiday season, which lifted sales. The novelty of controller-less gaming also drove units. But without the games to back it up, what's the point of having Kinect? Menu navigation? I see no Kinect games in the future, at least announced yet, that will keep the momentum. The Star Wars game and Child of Eden will not cut it. If the hardware is selling big but software doesn't measure up, eventually something will have to give. |
