There are over 8000 apps which is hardly "hardly any"...but there is less than android for sure.
As they are looking at games, WP7 has 52 Xbox live certified games (with achievements) and over 500 overall...so again, its not like a dev can release a game and be one of 3 available by default. Games that stood out on WP7 and sold well did so because they are good...there are 100s of games that no one bought on both phones I am pretty sure, but those 3 examples are actually really good games.
