I'm running into the same with the  number of darkspawn killed achievements.   I'm thinking it may have to do with how many times you yourself deal the final blow, as opposed to what your teammates do, but I'm not sure.  I should have the 1000 one already, but I do not.

Huh, interesting it's across both consoles.

I just went to PS3trophies.org and this is what it had to say under the trophy guide for the darkspawn kills trophy:

"This will come naturally as you progress through the story. The Darkspawn are your primary enemies. As long as someone in your party kills a Darkspawn, it counts towards this trophy. The Darkspawn kills count across all of your playthroughs. There's no need to go out of your way for this trophy.

Recent patches have screwed up these trophies a bit. You'll probably have to delete the patch and play offline to be able to earn the darkspawn kills trophies. For more info, visit this thread that spatters53 as put together."

So as long as a party member gets the kill it counts, I wonder if that includes summoned creatures/summoned dead. But also a patch has screwed with it. That thread it refers to suggests that the patch requires the 1000 kills to be in a single playthrough not across all plays though AND the character needs to deliver the death blow too. Bummer I must have downloaded the patch from the get go. Bastards. It's good to know there are ways to grind up to the 1000 kills, but I really hate trophies/achievments where you've got to do mindless grinding to get them. Trophies should be a measure of skill and a record of having played the game well and completely. Not just going over the same path repeatedly just to clock up enough kills. Grrrr.

Don't ever dare to think of trying to platinum FFXIII and Demon's Souls, if you are annoyed by a little farm.
