Agreed. Older games generally retain the elements that makes games so appealing IMO; pure, raw fast paced gameplay, rich content, replayability, multiplayer emphasis, randomization, etc. Todays games resemble movies too much, and bog down the pace with unnecessary elements like cinematic cut scenes, tutorials, linear gameply, and way too complicated control schemes.

There is a reason there are so many old school/ex-gamers out there. It's because for the most part, old games are superior (that is in everything but graphics).
