Overhyped.

For me personally, KZ2's campaign felt generic. Take away the graphics and there's not much to it really. I still remember everyone, including myself, goin nuts over the train level videos. Once you actually play it though, you realize that it's nothin more than a moving background, compared to a train level like Uncharted 2 where it actually affects the way you play. The visuals made everything look so much better than they really were.

The multiplayer was a huge mess. Anyone that played it within the first few weeks should know this. It took GG ages to fix some pretty big probs, while still leaving in some other huge ones.

Besides that:  the movement/controls. This pushed away player's in the masses. They were frustrating and clunky. I introduced the game to a few different friends that come to my house sometimes and they were horrible. They could barely shoot shoot shit without struggling.

Now KZ3 is pretty much here and tons of people have got a taste of the beta/demo. Alot of the oldschool fans arn't pleased at all with where game has gone and I imagine that newer players will be turned off by it for several legit reasons. GG once again failed to properly balanced the multiplayer and while they fixed some huge issues, they also brought in some new ones, such as reducing the player health to a CoD-level yet forgetting to nerf the 50-100 clip weapons a bit. While the clunky movement has been toned down a bit, it's still there and enough to frustrate the casuals.

I can't really say much about the campaign. The level with that huge bot thing looked awesome, but how many of the levels in the game are actually that good? The snow level in the recent demo was a little fun, but didn't feel all that new and fresh compared to most fps campaigns in general.

Honestly, it really seems like GG just focused way too much on the graphics. There's too many problems and genericness hiding under that thick layer of sugar-coating. Having played tons of shooters on pc and consoles, KZ2/3 don't really seem to bring anything new and exciting. The game seems good but, I'll wait for a pretty low used price before I buy it.

Considering how much complaining there was about the forums being flooded with KZ2 "stuff", I'm happy the hype has been moderate, so we don't have to hear said complaining.

Is that really somethin to be happy about? Complaint and bashing threads arn't always a bad thing. It gives the game more attention and shows that people actually care to see that things fixed and adjusted. No one complains about bad games because no one's gonna bother to touch them. The lack of KZ3 threads on here could easily mean that interest has been lost, and there'll be less sales from VGC members in general. That's probably goin a little too far though, we'll have to wait and see what happens.

In the long run, devs can't get proper feedback from a crowd that stays silent or kisses too much ass when it's unnecessary.
