Well, I can only talk about myself.
In those games it is possible, I love exploring it. I need to feel as immerse as possible, so I talk to everyone, I ask every question to be asked and I try to accomplish every quest, at least till I get bored of it. Dragon Age has tons of dialogues, text in its codex, etc. I need to know it all!!
But then, there's something more important yet.
This is the first time I play a game like this one (the closest thing were the two Mass Effect games) so I am not completely familiar with the battle system. Add to that that I am playing in hard dificulty and there you go. I lost a considerably amount of times... To show you how I felt somewhat intimidated by the western rpg genre (which I only played this this last year for the first time): I played for a long time without know I could use heal magic!! None of my characters had it and I was upgrading stupid things all the time. When I realised Morrigan could learn it, I laugh my ass out!! Much more when I finally got Wynne to join my party and I could revive other characters!! "Stupid me..."
You've got to add to that I have a baby girl, a wife and a demanding work, so I've got to freeze my gaming sessions every now and then.
There you are.
I wouldn't want a terrific game as this to last little though.
