Personally I think most people do not have the savvy eye of these analysts and really shouldn't care about all these figures. I spent way to long staring at 2 tvs one with a 5000 to 1 dynamic contrast ratio, and another with 500,000 to 1 dynamic ratio and I honestly couldn't tell the difference, in fact the contrast ratio seems to have a smaller impact then a simple touch like a gloss finish screen. I also think most consumers watching 720p tv think they are watching 1080p tv, and they're not. It's kind of like a wine connoisseur tasting something and expressing hints of nutmeg, hazlenut and a touch of butter cream with hint of wildberries in the aftertaste. These are things that will go unnoticed by most people.
