I think its silly that the reviewer is bashing the game cuz it has no Time Attack and Survival mode. If you're a serious fighting game player all you need is Practice Mode, Versus Mode, Online Versus Mode and Arcade Mode.
The last time I touched Time Attack mode was like in Tekken 3. And thats like more than 10 years ago.
I havent explored the online features of the game yet (I had it since yesterday), but if they take out the view online matches mode that was in SSF4 then that is quite a bummer.
Anyway I bet the reviewer is a casual fighting game fan who plays fighting games for the Beach Volleyball or Bowling mode or something.
