Congrats on your team winning. However you should be out celebrating. National Championships don't happen every year and you are in the French Quarter.

I went to the 95 sugar bowl (UT vs Va Tech). The game was I believe on New Years Eve. Man that was a wild trip and new years eve in New Orleans is almost as crazy as Mardi Gras is/was.

The BCS game happens way too long after New Years now. I long for the days when the big game was Jan 2nd and a team had to pretty much go undefeated (or if they lost it would have had to be in the first part of the season) to even make the national championship game. Like for example the 96 Fiesta bowl which had undefeated Nebraska vs undefeated Florida. Nobody got within 22 points of the Huskers that year and they beat 5 top 10 teams en route to the title. I remember all the build up because these were two supposedly unbeatable teams.

This year the game didn't interest me as much. A one loss team who was the underdog vs a 2 loss team. Still this was the craziest year in college football. LSU certainly seemed to be the best team for most of the year. Two triple OT losses in the SEC was their only blemish. So they definitely deserved it more than any other team.

Maybe LSU vs USC or LSU vs Kansas would have been a better match up.
