One million? The rumors say that Microsoft payed a 10 digit dollar value to Nokia for that alliance (>= 100 million dollars). Since we know that Microsoft provided a 500 million marketing budget for WP7, spending only 100 million for this Nokia deal is pretty much a bargain. (Btw, Google was also willing to spend dozens of billions of dollars for a Nokia alliance, but in the end Microsoft was willing to pay more) |
For christs sake...for the sheer entertainment value, how about you provide a source to this rediculous statement?
100 million dollar cash sum to Nokia is completely meanigless...they are a 40 billion dollar company and 2 billion dollar profit company. 100 million would not buy them a new coffee machine if there wasn't a solid strategy and partnership in place. They are doing a complete 180 degrees and will probably lose 5 billion dollars because of this in the short term.
Also if Microsoft was doing a 100 million dollar payment, there would be an official announcement for this.
