A friendly dialogue between Steve and Elop.

Steve: "Hey Elop, I want you to candidate for CEO position on Nokia."
Elop: "Why, Steve? I like here."
Steve: "Well, you are very qualified for the position, then you will get it. Once you get there, I want you to move the company for our operating system. This will cause the share price to plummet, and we can clean up the mess so that we can compete with Apple, Google and HP."
Elop: "This will ruin the Nokia!"
Steve: "This will give us seven percent or more market share. "
Elop: "Nokia has almost 30 percent."
Steve: "I'll give you one million dollars, Elop..."
Elop: "Ok Steve, I'll do it."
Steve: "Oh Elop before going to kiss my ring."
Elop: "Yes, sir. "

One million? The rumors say that Microsoft payed a 10 digit dollar value to Nokia for that alliance (>= 100 million dollars). Since we know that Microsoft provided a 500 million marketing budget for WP7, spending only 100 million for this Nokia deal is pretty much a bargain.

(Btw, Google was also willing to spend dozens of billions of dollars for a Nokia alliance, but in the end Microsoft was willing to pay more)

For christs sake...for the sheer entertainment value, how about you provide a source to this rediculous statement?

100 million dollar cash sum to Nokia is completely meanigless...they are a 40 billion dollar company and 2 billion dollar profit company. 100 million would not buy them a new coffee machine if there wasn't a solid strategy and partnership in place. They are doing a complete 180 degrees and will probably lose 5 billion dollars because of this in the short term.

Also if Microsoft was doing a 100 million dollar payment, there would be an official announcement for this.
