Don't know where you live or what movie theatres you're going to...
Of course, it is competition and it's a good thing. It helps make sure that Nintendo doesn't be lazy and just come out with remakes and ports of their old games, but rather come out with fresh content for the 3DS (plenty of people will still buy the remakes/ports).
