That brings back memories. It was one of my first dvd-rom's as well. I had my pc hooked up to an old 2nd hand CRT projector shooting a 72 inch picture on a white washed wall in a time 17 inch was considered big for a pc monitor. I could watch the cut scenes over and over again.
It's about time for a new space sim/combat game to come out. My favourite space sim is still frontier elite 3. Nothing since has replicated the awesome feeling of landing a space craft from space on a planet, any planet you want. Flying into the atmosphere, levelling out your descent, hurtling across the mountains and oceans, slowing down just in time for a gentle touchdown at one of the local space ports. Combat was rather weak in elite, but that's what freespace was for. A mariage of the two with a mass effect type universe/story line and you have my perfect game.
