Shrug, seeing as DKII kicked me out of the other thread, which I unapologetically supported (There was no leo-j to astound me with his 15 year old wisdom)
The good - A new, legal way for those law abiding PSP owners to watch movies on their consoles, since there are people quite content not to pirate, and good on them!
The bad - Gee, umm, let's see. Encoding time, unless it's built in on the Blu-Ray disc in a specialty format, and if it isn't, why not allow Sony DVD's as well? Paying 40 bucks for a mostly portable movie isn't all that appealing to me, but for some, paying for a HD movie and watching it on a tiny non HD screen is something they are content with.
If it is already pre-loaded on a blu-ray disc, I'm not certain how well non Sony studios will comply with that. "Alright, new caveat for using Blu-Ray: Gotta include a 500 meg encoding of the video for PSP owners.". Thought I honestly have no idea how important that is.
See Ya George.
