Actually, you may not know this, but the Queen refrence is actually intended and not coincidental.

The first game in the series is "Ogre Battle: March of the Black Queen."

Two Queen songs.

And one of the seas in Ogre Battle is called Rhyan Sea (reference to Seven Seas of Rhye). Or that chapter in FFT called Somebody to Love. Matsuno is a huge Queen fan

 

I really wanna try Tactics Ogre, I've heard nothing but praise for it, and since FFT is one of my favorite games ever I'm pretty sure I'm gonna love it

Maybe, a lot of people who like FFT don't like it I think.  Me, I love it... but it's a lot harder to "break" the classes since it doesn't let you mix and match stuff.  It's more "oldschool" style strategy like "Leveling the guy as a ninja for 5 levels so your knight has a speed bonus."

Story wise though, i'd be hardpressed to find a story I think is better... and they've fixed the translations so that's great.
