Not only are they good for developers, but important to consumers.
I don't want to buy a product, that I'm unsure of future wise. Of course Sony is going to say "It's doing fantastic, we have loads of games coming" what the heck else are they going to say? Every company would say that.
Then when they don't bring out numbers to match it, and said consumer finds out it's not doing too bright, and their investment isn't looking to good ..
Not saying that is the case for Move at all, but it's an example of why it's important we have these userbase figures.
