That's still beside the point.  If somebody gets murdered, the damage has already been done, but does that mean that the person should just be let go rather than let the criminal system try the criminalistic criminal in the criminal courts?

Are you seriously comparing jailbreak to robbing a bank and murdering people?

The comparisons were not made in regards to severity of the crime, but the overall just of what is occurring.  They are no different in the broad view of things.  The comment I replied to stated that the damage is already done, implying that since its already done, Sony should just move on.  In a majority of crimes (I used murder in this instance), the damage will already be done when the person is caught.  So using the same philosophy, if somebody is murdered, since the damage is already done, rather than seeking justice and sending the person to jail, we should just improve our society so it is less likely to happen in the future.

And for robbing a bank, its the same general idea, yes.  Something gets stolen, should you just ignore the fact that you just had a shit ton of your property stolen from you and instead just improve your security in an attempt to prevent future theft, or should you go after the people that are stealing from you...I think the answer is rather obvious.

Neither of these is saying that stealing Sony's software is worse, or even close to as bad as killing somebody or robbing a bank, but just because the damage is already done does not mean justice should not be seeked, and just because they won't catch every single person who steals their property does not mean they should not seek justice against the people they can actually catch.
