Kinda late to the party but wanted to mention the Tournament Edition stick is worth it no matter what version you get. I put in 300 hours into fighting games with it and it still holds strong. I slammed my fist into it a few times, dropped it on hardwood floors and it sitll runs well. $150 might seem like a lot for a stick but if your any bit serious about fighting games then you owe it to yourself to get one.

The standard edition stick is only worth it if you put in  < 60 hours into it because that thing will wear down pretty fast. It's basically for the casuals or someone that wants a taste of what It's like to game on a stick.

Honestly once you use a stick you'll never go back. If you look at the tournament level of things there are few people who use fightpads and well but they are rare.

Also I've never seen anyone do extremely well with just a normal 360/PS3 controller at tournament level but I'm sure one exists.

It's just that simple.
