Look, you can buy it and play it for the fun, no problem there, but I really think it is the wrong route to take if the intent is only for helping your son to become a more competitive swimmer. I gotta see the demo, but I'm hoping this game will help. technique is everything. My son was fast, but got much faster after taking some lessons. How you position your arm is very important and I'm hoping this game can help.
And since my son loves swimming and kinect, this game seem perfect.
